Letter from Chapter President, Araina Young-Daniels

It is with great humbleness that I bring you greetings on behalf of the Epsilon Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ®. We are a Sensational South Central Region graduate chapter located in “the City by the Sea,” Port Arthur, Texas. Our chapter has a rich legacy of service and leadership and readily demonstrates our impact in these areas throughout the Golden Triangle. Rechartered in 2011, we are home to some of the areas most distinguished professional women whose service permeates the very fabric of our communities.

Comprised of more than 1,050 Chapters across all 50 states and 11 countries, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, established in 1908, is the oldest sorority established by African American women in our nation. Under the leadership of our International President and CEO, Danette Anthony Reed, our 2022-2026 International theme is “Soaring to Greater Heights of Service & Sisterhood,” which addresses six Program Initiatives: 

  •  Strengthening Our Sisterhood

  •  Empowering Our Families

  •  Building Our Economic Wealth

  •  Enhancing Our Environment

  •  Advocating for Social Justice

  •  Uplifting Our Local Community. 

Epsilon Theta Omega places a strong emphasis on our programs, which serve as the core of our service delivery. Our dedicated members are committed to leveraging their impact and influence to develop innovative solutions for the most pressing challenges faced by the communities we serve. We collaborate with community partners to offer programs and services that are impactful and perennial.
